Clinic Values.
-
We understand how distressing and isolating navigating the complexities of a difficult relationship with food can be and so creating a safe and nurturing space where every client is met with kindness and empathy is at the heart of our practice.Through compassionate care we strive to cultivate trust and a genuine therapeutic relationship that allows for open communication and meaningful change.
-
We know from extensive research and professional experience working with 100s of clients, how harmful and stigmatising weigh-centric practices are, this is why at our clinic we adopt the health at every size (HAES) paradigm. We consider every body capable of attaining health regardless of their weight, shape, size or BMI - we see you for who you are, your experiences and your history.
-
We consider every and each of one of our clients as humans with unique life experiences and personal goals and so we tailor our approaches to suit your individual needs and preferences. We ensure every client is carefully and appropriately assessed and heard when developing a treatment plan as well as, involved in every decision throughout the entirity of their work with us. In our clinic we highly value respecting and promoting the right to personal autonomy.
-
We believe health is multifaceted, meaning we consider your physical, emotional, psychological and social constructs when assessing and exploring your relationship with food and your body. Our approach to healing one’s relationhsip with food looks at the bidirectional interaction between our food choices and other determinants of health such as emotional regulation, social interactions, sleep and joyful movement.

My Approach to Nourishment & Food Freedom.
Throughout her academic years and experience working with many individuals in healing their relationship with food, Andrea understands the complexity and uniqueness of every client. Andrea firmly believes that one-size-fits-all approaches don’t work and so her approach is rooted in understanding your story and experiences with food and eating. Andrea will provide you with therapeutic tools and strategies to help you in identifying and addressing your individual challenges so that you can move towards a life of food freedom.
Most importantly, the focus of her approach is on building a fulfilling and values-driven life where health isn’t determined by a number on the scale and where food isn’t dictated by rigid rules.
Andrea incorporates evidence-based nutrition to educate her clients on the nuances of nutrition and the impact our eating patterns have at a physical, emotional and psychological health level.
