The idea of a meal plan may sound appealing to many people or by the contrary, people may be seeking an approach that doesn’t involve a prescriptive plan. Your nutritionist will assess and discuss in great detail whether you need a meal plan and what this meal plan may look like for you. For example a meal plan for someone whose primary goal is to restore weight may be different to the meal plan of a client who may need support reducing and addressing binge eating. Meal plans will therefore be tailored to your unique needs, goals and preferences. Most meal plans will include suggestions around portion sizes and guidance on how to build balanced meals and snacks to support you in achieving your goals. During your recovery your meal plan will look slightly different, corresponding to your goals at the time e.g. incoporating more flexibility when you have reached certain milestones like getting you period back.
*Note: meal plans aren’t always necessary or the best option for some clients. Your nutritionist will discuss this with you and offer a different approach that may be better suited to your needs.
